Cyprus really is an island of contrasts: from the cool pine covered Troodos Mountains to the miles of attractive coastline with golden beaches and crystal clear waters, Cyprus Holidays have something for everyone. On average this beautiful island enjoys 330 days of sunshine, encompassing a delightful spring season which produces an abundance of flora and fauna, to deliciously hot dry summers.
The Cypriots themselves are renowned for their friendliness and hospitality. Greek is the main language; however you will find that English is extensively spoken throughout Cyprus. This combination of glorious climate, driving on the left, varied and exciting restaurants and nightlife, familiar brand names in the shops, and a fascinating history make Cyprus your ideal choice for a holiday. The charming west coast town of Paphos with its attractive little harbour where open-air fish restaurants line a quayside of bright fishing boats and pleasure crafts is ideal for your Cyprus Holidays.
One of the top Cyprus Attractions is in Paphos, The World Heritage Site, and is home to many marvellous and world class historical sites and treasures. Ancient legend tells us that this is the home of Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and Beauty. Paphos (or Pafos) is one of the most beautiful and ancient towns in Cyprus, an island blessed with history.
Small in size but bulging with all the personality of a sassy Mediterranean hotspot, Cyprus woos visitors with profound legends of love, epic tales from over 10,000 years of colorful history, and a veritable smorgasbord of culinary treats.
After dining on salty halloumi, tangy dolmades (stuffed vine leaves) and chunks of kleftiko (seasoned slow-baked lamb), visitors will find many an all-night party pumping throughout Cyprus' main towns - Ayia Napa in particular - and an assortment of pristine beaches on which to revive and rejuvenate the next day.
For an altogether slower pace, the café culture of Nicosia is well worth sampling, as are some gentle wanders around the country's fascinating selection of UNESCO World Heritage sites. Whatever speed you choose to go, Cyprus is guaranteed to leave you wanting more.
